Sean Simmons Inspirational Essay Contest 2013

Bayou Soul Writers and Reader’s Conference seeks to educate and empower high school teens in a city that has a history of rampant violence, extreme poverty and a struggling educational system.  Our mission is to celebrate the literary arts in New Orleans during Essence Festival Week and to promote literacy and the importance of a college education to young people.
