The entry fee is free. Entries must be sent electronically as an attachment to [email protected] as a pdf file. Make sure your name, address, grade level, high school, current English Teacher and telephone number is located on the first page of your essay. Decisions: Judges are teachers, instructors, readers, librarians, book lovers, and professionals in the publishing industry. All essays are judged on the basis of originality, creativity, quality, adherence to 4 pages or less, and whether the essay is properly developed with a thesis and supporting paragraphs and conclusion. All decisions of the judges are final. Privacy Policy: Bayou Soul Writers and Reader’s Conference does not release or sell contest entrant information to third parties or mailing lists, nor will you receive telephone solicitations, whatsoever. Rights: All essays remain the property of the student who wrote or created them. By submitting an essay for this contest, the student may be eligible for a special invite to the Bayou Soul Writers and Reader’s Conference to meet celebrity authors, to meet met KeKe Palmer, DeDe Davis and Celebrity authors. Notification: All Prize winners will be notified by email or by telephone. The top three winning entries will be invited to our first annual celebrity author meet and greet at the New Orleans Public Library on JULY 5TH.
